Using the Mead Memorial Chapel |

The Mead Memorial Chapel can be used for weddings, christenings and secular events. Decisions about which events can take place in the chapel are made by the chapel's Board of Trustees. If you have an event, or would like to use the chapel for any purpose, you may submit your request in writing. Click on the contact us link to the left and send an email to the Chair of the Board. |

Our family heritage had its beginnings 1776 when Enoch Mead of Greenwich, with his bride, Jemima, discovered Long Pond, now called Waccabuc, on their horseback wedding trip. They fell in love with the rolling, wooded land, not long before an Indian hunting ground, and later acquired a large tract around the lake. |

Sarah Frances Studwell was born on February 6th 1838 to John Jay Studwell and Elizabeth LaFarge Moore, who were married on September 18, 1836. She was named for her father's only sister, Sarah, but was called by her full name of Sarah Frances by her parents. |
